Spud opens with seven races

    CARIBOU, Maine — Spud Speedway’s season opener was held Saturday evening in front of a large crowd. Results from Aroostook County’s only race track are as follows:
Northern Lights: first, Dustin Francis, Monticello; second, Matt Lloyd, New Denmark, New Brunswick; and third, Shawn Dewley, Presque Isle.
Street Stock: first, Bobby Anderson, Limestone; second, Derek Finnemore, Presque Isle; and third, JR Howlett, Mapleton.
Fast Fours: first, Keith Thibeau, Fort Fairfield; second, Nate Haney, Caribou; and third, Lloyd.
Sportsman 50 Lap: first, Connor Thibeau, Fort Fairfield; second, Robert Tomlinson, Arthurette, New Brunswick; and third, Nick Kinney, Danforth.
Kids Karts: first, Ryder Leavitt, Fort Fairfield; second, Isaac Rossignol, New Denmark, New Brunswick; and third, Gage Theriault, Limestone.
Junior Champ Karts: first, Bryan Ball, Presque Isle; second, Damion Theriault, Caribou; and third, Landen Leavitt, Fort Fairfield.
Senior Sportsman Karts: first, Mario Picard, Caribou; and second, Tom Hale, Westmanland.
