NEW CREDIT UNION — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the Acadia Federal Credit Union in Ashland on July 11. Among those participating in the ceremonies were, from left: Bonnie Pack and Sarah Brooks, Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce directors; Ryan Jandreau, Acadia FCU Ashland branch manager; Percy Thibeault, Acadia FCU director; David Desjardins, Acadia FCU president/CEO; Luis Sanclemente, Acadia FCU vice president; Nola Farley, Chamber director; Ralph Dwyer, Ashland town manager; Theresa Fowler, CACC executive director; Nancy Fletcher, chamber president; and Floyd Rockholt, chamber director.
Branch and community members joined the credit union employees and administrators in this day-long celebration offering refreshments, along with fun giveaways, a candy table, community barbecue catered by Aramark Dining Services, root beer floats, and an appearance by the credit union’s mascot Monty the Moose. The event was attended by almost 200 persons.
There was lots to celebrate, as the Ashland branch marks the fifth Acadia FCU location and offers the community an economic boost along with more banking choices for residents of the surrounding areas.
