Three charged for string of car break-ins

    CARIBOU — A string of car thefts was reported over the weekend in vicinity of the Woodland Center Road.
    Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan said on Monday morning that three individuals have been charged for the crimes, two juveniles and one adult, all from Caribou.
    Scott Romano, 18, was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.

    As of Monday morning, it was reported that four vehicles had been broken into. Chief Gahagan reported that all vehicles were parked in residential driveways and all were unlocked. 
    “In each vehicle, numerous articles were taken,” he said, citing wallets, cash, medications and a carton of cigarettes.
    Caribou Officers Corey Saucier and Keith Ouellette worked on the cases.


 

Police bust underage drinking party

    CARIBOU — A Caribou man has been charged with providing a place for minors to consume alcohol.
    Caribou Police Officers Chad Foley and Doug Bell responded to a noise complaint at Hilltop Apartments on July 8. Upon investigation they discovered an underage drinking party.
    Cody Dunton, 20, of Caribou was charged with providing a place for minors to consume alcohol and possession of alcohol by consumption. Three other female juveniles will be charged with possession by consumption from the incident.
    Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan noted that a tip from the public alerted the police to the disturbance and the resulting crackdown on underage drinking.
