Chris is an approximately 2-year-old neutered male residing at Halfway Home Pet Rescue. Pet Rescue President Norma Milton said that Chris was owned by a hoarder and didn’t get any individual attention, “but he turned out sweet and happy despite that unfortunate start in life.” Milton says that Chris and his sister, Carly, are clean, loving, and very good hunters and that have all their medical work completed. The HHPR Thrift Store is having a Huge Blowout Sale-a-thon for the next two weeks. The shelter continues to be in need of Purina Kitten Chow, postage stamps, 4 x 6 and 3 x 5 index cards. A quilt made by Carolyn Hayden was raffled off at the Bluegrass Fair in Fort Fairfield this weekend raised $295 for the pet rescue. Melissa Franklin of Bangor held her famous Pawsitively Positive Pool Party and brought us up a carload of pet supplies for the rescue, as well as a check for $750. Milton said that this is the fourth year Franklin has orchestrated such an occasion to benefit the shelter. There are several cats and kittens ready for adoption, call 999-1075 for an appointment.
