Basketball regular season wrapping up

  CARIBOU, Maine — The five-team Caribou Men’s Basketball Summer League will wrap up its regular season this week and begin the playoffs Aug. 4.
Standings in the league as of July 24 are as follows: Brown Stars (6-1), Mars Hill (3-4), Caribou 2 (3-4), Caribou 1 (3-4) and Bomb Squad (3-5).
On July 14, the Bomb Squad downed Caribou 2, 68-55, while Caribou 1 edged Mars Hill, 74-74. In a July 16 contest, Bomb Squad got past Caribou 1, 80-77.
On July 21, Brown Stars handled the Bomb Squad, 80-47, and Mars Hill stopped Caribou 2, 76-63. Brown Stars nipped Caribou 1, 66-64, on July 23.
In the most recent game, played Monday, Caribou 1 thrashed Mars Hill, 67-40.
The regular season finales will be played tonight, with Mars Hill taking on Brown Stars at 6 p.m., followed by Caribou 1 vs. Caribou 2 at 7 p.m.
On Monday, Aug. 4, the post-season gets under way as the No. 4 team will play the No. 5 team beginning at 7 p.m.  The semifinals are set for Wednesday, Aug. 6, with No. 2 playing No. 3 at 7 p.m. and No. 1 squaring off against the winner of the Aug. 4 contest at 8 p.m.
The championship game is slated for Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m.
All games are played at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
