     ESANCY, Brent W., 59, of PRESQUE ISLE & FREEPORT, at Freeport, August 1, 2014. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Wed., Aug. 6, at the Funeral Home. Arrangements under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE & FREEPORT – Brent W. Esancy, 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Friday evening, August 1, 2014, at his residence in Freeport. He was born in Bangor on May 2, 1955, the son of William and Joanne (Chaples) Esancy. 
    He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Brent worked as a Maine State Trooper 1978-1985, a police officer for the Presque Isle Police Dept., and for 22 years at Maine Mutual Insurance Co. in Presque Isle as an assistant claims manager. He enjoyed working with his co-workers at Maine Mutual. He was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed playing guitar, attending sport events, and spending time with family and friends.
    He is survived by his parents of Jefferson; his wife and soul mate, Shelly (Bell) Esancy of Freeport; two sons, Benjamin Esancy and his wife, Jacqueline of Fairfax, VT, and Samuel Esancy and his significant other, Amanda of Mapleton; three daughters, Rachel Blevins and her husband, Robert of Boston, MA, Sheena Petrillo and her husband, Dominic of Freeport, Caitlyn Esancy and her significant other, Reuben Caron of Charleston, SC; a brother, James Esancy and his wife, Michelle of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren: Will, Emily, Halle, Daxton and Lincoln.
    He was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew and Christopher.
    Relatives and friends called 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014, with Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Freeport at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to the House of Comfort, PO Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
