Houlton Ultimate Summer League

The Houlton Ultimate Summer League is still wide open entering the second half of its regular season, as teams jockey for playoff positions. In week four of play, WHOU 100.1 FM rolled past Bond Family Mercantile for the 11-4 win.
WHOU started the scoring with a well balanced first point as their handlers worked the disc up the field. Team Bond was quick to answer, however, scoring the next point in less than 20 seconds from the pull.

“A well organized WHOU squad responded well to the fast paced Bond team and held them to just three points in the first half of play,” said Chris Rines, organizer of Ultimate Houlton. “Some sloppy turnovers by WHOU made way to some very good opportunities for the Bonds, but they just couldn’t convert any into points.”
The Bonds would score just once in the second half as WHOU ran away with the win.
A very well orchestrated WHOU team, who just suffered the worst loss in HUSL history, rebounded to a win and dealt the similar loss to team Goetsch Custom Design.
“The disc was moved well over the field and everything seemed to click for WHOU while GCD couldn’t seem to hit their usual fast paced rhythm,” Rines added.
WHOU  won 11-2.
In other action, there was a back-and-forth battle between Bond Family Mercantile and Rent-A-Center.     “This game was truly either team’s to win, neither side got out to a large lead, the score always stayed within one point,” Rines explained.
Finally it came down to a soft cap call when the score was 6-5. The two teams then quickly traded scores again with the Bond team eventually reaching the cap over RAC, 8-7, for the win.
