CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou Little League hosted the State Farm Invitational Little League Tournament July 25-27 at the Robert P White and Rotary fields.
The event drew 14 teams, eight in the 11-12 year-old division and six in the 9-10 division. The tourney included pool play format, followed by a knockout round for the top finishing teams.
In the 11-12 division, Caribou’s County Physical Therapy got by Presque Isle, 15-7, in one semifinal, and Old Town defeated the Maine Sluggers from Brewer in the other. In the championship between the two undefeated teams, Old Town stopped Caribou CPT, 6-3, to claim the title. Other teams in the division were Fort Kent, Caribou Irving Farms, MDI Falcons and the Scrappers from Bradford.
In the 9-10 division, Houlton edged Cindy’s Sub Shop of Caribou in the championship game by a score of 7-6 to claim the title. Old Town defeated the Scrappers from Bradford to take the third-place game. Other teams in the division were Fort Fairfield and the MDI Falcons.
