Oxbow music festival gains in popularity
To the editor:
The Mystic Acres Campground Music Festival in Oxbow was a great success. The weather was beautiful and the music even better. Saturday’s show was from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thanks to all that have the courage, plus talent, to get on stage and entertain
A special appreciation goes out to Bernard C. Ayotte. He was not able to attend this year, but has provided the sound system and lined up the groups for the stage performances since 2007. Our thanks to Bernard for all his hard work and assistance in helping this festival grow.
The talent is amazing, not only for the show, but when you go around the campfires and listen to the music. All are welcome and there is no charge to attend. Bring a chair, relax and enjoy the day.
This year, the 50/50 raffle was done for Reed Plummer, an 11-year-old boy fighting cancer. Ticket sales were over $500 with other generous, good-hearted people giving directly to the boy’s family. So many people bought tickets and just said, “keep the tickets and if I win, give it all to them.” Lynette, the lady that won, gave her winnings back to the boy’s family. Thanks to all that donated, purchased tickets and for the love and caring from so many.
A big “thank you” to our food stand vendor. The availability of food for purchase at the campground certainly added to the festive atmosphere. It was greatly appreciated.
