Aroostook Retired Educators Association (A.R.E.A.) will meet Tuesday, Aug. 19 at the Edmunds Center on the NMCC campus in Presque Isle. Registration will be at 11 a.m. and a buffet luncheon will be served at noon. The cost of the meal is $13. Lunch will be followed by the program featuring guest speaker John Kozinski, director of Me. Ed. Public Relations. The business meeting will follow.
A.R.E.A. will continue to collect canned goods and non-perishable items to be distributed to local food pantries. A.R.E.A. will also be participating in this year’s annual “Day of Caring” to be held in September. The project for this year is the “Bulging Backpack” project, which involves filling a backpack with school supplies and donating it to an area school. Donations for both projects may be brought to the remaining two summer meetings.
All members are reminded to encourage retirees to join A.R.E.A.
