This week, the Men’s Twilite League is in its final night of regular season play. The Bob Gray/Jerry York team holds a slim .5 lead in the Early League, while the Gabe Goodwin/Dan Peabody and Porter/Ian Gervais team are comfortably ahead in their respective divisions. Playoffs will begin on Aug. 18, with the top 16 teams qualifying for the single elimination tournament. Teams will be ranked from No. 1 to No. 16 according to points, won/lost and head-to-head competition. The brackets and schedule are posted on the bulletin board in the clubhouse. There also will be a consolation tournament for those teams who do not qualify for the championship.
The County Open Men’s Championship was an exciting one, as father Lance Lancaster and son Austin battled the last four holes to tie at 71 after 18 holes. In the third-hole playoff, youth prevailed and Austin was crowned champion. In the Ladies Division, Lou Ann Dwyer continued her dominance by winning the championship by six strokes. Dave Edgar won the B division and Don Collins finished as the C champion. Congratulations to the other finishers, and thank you all for your participation.
