With a drive-up window and fresh deli menu, Mike’s Quick Stop brings convenience to a new level along the frequented Caribou-Presque Isle commute on Route 1.
Owner Mike Cyr purchased the store in December and, under the management of Pat Allen, the convenient store has undergone some bright new changes with new lighting and better space utilization, all while maintaining the fantastic services and community partnerships customers have come to expect over the years.
The Quick Stop still has an ATM machine, propane tank exchange, Western Union services, “Plus we kept the three-cent senior discount, the free small coffee with a fill-up of gas — everything people are used to, we made certain to keep,” Pat said.
Folks have commented positively on the brighter, more open storefront, but the best received change has been the deli.
“It’s been received extremely well,” Pat said, and the deli is also her favorite addition to the store. Some routine customers even frequent its counter for breakfast and lunch. The double-sided menu features a variety of tasty items from sandwiches and pizzas, to lobster rolls and buffalo chicken mini-bites — and if something’s not on the menu, just ask.
Customers even call in an order to pick it up on their way home, and Mike’s Quick Stop makes it all the easier to pick up that gallon of milk or loaf of bread on your way home; utilizing their drive-up window means customers don’t even have to get out of their vehicle.
“It’s great for the wintertime when you don’t want to leave the kids in the car but you need to pick up that gallon of milk,” Pat highlighted. Plus, Mike’s Quickstop sells milk at Maine minimum prices.
Even when they’re closed, they’re still open for fuel. The pumps are accessible 24/7 and new lighting was installed to highlight that service last month.
The store and the deli are open at 5 a.m. every day, and they’re open until 9 p.m. during the week, 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
