HOULTON — Officials with The County Federal Credit Union recently announced that James Mattila has been promoted to branch manager of the Houlton location. Mattila replaces former Branch Manager Kathleen Smith, who retired after 39 years of service in July.
“James has been working in our Houlton location as a loan officer for a while now and has immersed himself into the community,” said Executive Vice President Dan Bagley, congratulating Mattila on the promotion. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for James and all of the Houlton staff, and I know under James’ leadership the Houlton area members will continue to be well served.”

Mattila joined the credit union in 2008 as a member representative of lending in Caribou, and was promoted to a loan officer 2010. In 2012, Mattila transferred to the new Houlton location.
“I am honored to accept the role of branch manager in Houlton,” Mattila said. “I have really grown to love the staff and membership, along with the entire community here,” he added, mentioning that he looks forward to working with the staff to provide the best financial services available in the community.
“I am thankful when I open the doors of our beautiful new facility every day to welcome our members in,” he said. “I hope that many people get to experience the difference we have to offer.”
