Morrow family reunion

On Sunday, Aug. 10 the Morrow family reunion was held at the Castle Hill Grange Hall. Sixty-five guests were in attendance. The event included a potluck dinner, stories exchanged and pictures of bygone days shown along with some memorabilia of Peter and Mary Morrow.
Peter and Mary raised a family of 10 in Ashland, which started this “crazy, wonderful family!” Family members from as far away as Hong Kong and as close as Castle Hill were present. A Morrow family T-shirt was given to the oldest descendant of Peter Morrow, which was Stanley Theriault of Washburn. All first cousins were present, with the exception of two, which were absent due to illness.
Many of the family were in town to take part in the Congres Mondial Acadien 2014, which was taking place in the St. John Valley. There was discussion on the Morrows coming to the area, and another reunion/cookout took place in Hamlin Aug. 16 at the Morrow homestead.
