Free hockey offered to youth

The Southern Aroostook Minor Hockey Association is jumping out of its skates to announce what it has been working so hard to accomplish for the youth of the community, and for the love of the “coolest” sport, free hockey.
The free hockey program will be for ages 8 and younger program (and all brand new players up to age 12). No travel is required, as all games will be played in-house at the John Millar Civic Center. Players will be split into “rec-style” teams, with two practices per week and a game or games Saturday or Sunday.
Gear is available for those needing it. Space is limited.
The program will run from mid-November until mid-February. All those who wish to participate in this program must first register with USA Hockey on their website (www.usahockey.com). Those born in years 2007 and prior will need to pay a USA Hockey registration fee and parents/guardians must also bring their child’s USA Hockey registration identification card with them to sign up. No child will be allowed to participate without completing this step.
In addition, four forms that appear on the SAMHA website (www.samhahockey.org) must be printed out and completed. Those forms must also be brought to the registration session.
