A special training opportunity will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, in Caribou for anyone interested in becoming a community volunteer.
The event will be held at the Parish of the Precious Blood and is being facilitated by Catholic Charities’ Parish Social Ministry. The session will begin at 9 a.m. and ends at noon.
The Parish Social Ministry regional training provides participants with a motivational grounding in the Catholic faith and its relation to serving those living on the margins in a community.
Topics will include: Catholic social teaching, how to recruit volunteers, panel presentation by local parish ministries sharing their best practices, and PSM resources to assist ministries.
Priests, deacons, parish staff, parish volunteers and those who volunteer in the community are encouraged to attend.
The training program is free. To RSVP or for more information, call Deacon Al Burleigh at 653-9570 or email aburleigh@ccmaine.org.
