Earlier this summer I ran into Judge Bernie O’Mara in Visions Art Gallery, and he told me about “the best kept art secret” in Houlton.
A couple of weeks later my husband and I visited the courthouse where Bernie showed us artist Brian Mark’s eighteen acid-on-stainless-steel engravings. Representing the theme of justice and incorporating such local flora and fauna as a fiddlehead and a moose, these subtly realized, handsomely framed works of various size were well worth seeing. I’m glad we made it to the courthouse this summer — without being summoned!
