CARIBOU & BERLIN PA. – Florence M. Newbegin, 90, died August 31, 2014 at Berlin Pa. She was born August 30, 1924 in Fort Kent, the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Julia (Raymond) Corriveau. Mrs. Newbegin was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and had volunteered at Maine Veteran’s Home Caribou, for a number of years.
Mrs. Newbegin was predeceased by her parents, husband Frederick G. Newbegin, son Robert R. Newbegin, brother Joseph Corriveau, sisters Frances Langley and Shirley Blandford, and son-in-law Kevin Fieg. She is survived by her children; Vernon Grantham and wife Georgia, of Somerset, PA., Terry Newbegin and wife Diana, and Larry Newbegin and fianceé Patricia Rigo, all of Johnson City, Tenn., and Gay Fieg, of Berlin, PA, daughter-in-law Colleen Newbegin, Jacksonville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, and one great- great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street Caribou, 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 until time of services which will be held at 3 p.m. from the funeral home with Fr. Kyle Doustou officiating. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
