LIMESTONE, Maine — The Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone has once again earned top marks from Newsweek.
The recently announced 2014 rankings listed MSSM as the 11th best school in America based on Newsweek’s methodology, which weighs 2013 enrollment figures, graduation rates, weighted SAT composite scores, changes in student enrollment, and the counselor-to-student ratio. Newsweek also weighted schools based on economically disadvantaged students who performed better than the state average in reading and mathematics.
“It really speaks to the hard work that MSSM faculty and staff put in to preparing these students who come to MSSM,” said Executive Director of MSSM, Luke Shorty. “Truly, we see ourselves as an extension for all other Maine schools.”
