Maskery promoted
Air Force Col. Scott P. Maskery was promoted to his current rank on July 1, 2014 and assumed command of the 374th Mission Support Group, Yokota Air Base, Japan on July 10. Maskery’s previous assignment was Deputy Commander, 6th Mission Support Group, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida from June 2012 – May 2014.
Maskery deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Deputy Commander, 376th Expeditionary Mission Support Group, the Transit Center at Manas, the Kyrgyz Republic from October 2013 – April 2014.
He earned the Meritorious Service Medal, fourth and fifth oak leaf clusters, respectively, from those two previous assignments prior to assuming command at the 374th Mission Support Group in Japan. Maskery’s wife, Jennifer, and their children, Elena and Paul are with him at Yokota Air Base.
He is a 1988 graduate of Bristol Eastern High School, Bristol, Conn. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1992 from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C.
Maskery is the son of Paul M. and Bonnie J. Maskery of Bristol, Conn., brother of Michael J. Maskery of Waltham, Mass., nephew of Sandra J. Wyman of Dyer Brook, Thomas J. Maskery of Bristol, Conn. and Barry C. Higgins of Dyer Brook, Maine, and cousin of Lori Silvia of Ledyard, Conn.
