    Clark, Jay I., 74, September 26, 2014.  Calling hours are Thursday, October 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Houlton Wesleyan Church.  Interment to be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.

 PT Jay Clark   HOULTON – Jay Irvine Clark, 74, lost a courageous 4 1/2 year battle against cancer on Sept. 26, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Washburn, ME, on August 13, 1940, the son of Irvine K. Clark and Muriel Smith Clark.
    Jay graduated from Washburn High School in 1958. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in biology in 1962. He then earned his master’s degree in zoology from the University of Maine at Orono in 1964. Jay had an illustrious 33 year teaching career where he taught 11 years at the college level, 5 of those years at Ricker College in Houlton. He then spent 22 years in secondary education and retired from Houlton High School in 2000.
    Jay was a very active member of the community. He was the advisor to the local envirothon team which were state champions in 1993 & 1994. As a teacher, he was a member of the NEA, MEA and MEAR associations. He was a member and past president of the Aroostook Retired Educators Association as well as a member of the Ricker College Scholarship Committee. Jay was the supervisor of the Integrated Pest Management Program as part of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service, and also served as a member and past president of the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum.
    Jay was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. His laughter, sense of humor and kindness were just some of his many special qualities. He was an avid collector of Lionel trains, loved working in the garden and a great table tennis player. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor and would do anything to help anyone. He and his wife of 52 years, Lois, enjoyed many memorable Cyr Bus line trips across the country.
    Jay is survived by his wife, Lois (Sis) Clark of Houlton; their daughter, Kim Douglas, her husband, Steven, and their children, Rachel and Matthew of Bangor; their daughter, Lisa Allen and her husband, Tom of Old Town; their son, Alan Clark and his wife, Shelly of Portland; their son, Dean Clark, his wife, Tina and children, Brandon and Cameron of Houlton; his sisters, Joan Crouse and husband, Milton of NJ; Joy Corey and husband, Ken of PA; his brothers, Jim Clark of Presque Isle, and Jon Clark and wife, Kendra of Utah.
    Friends may call Thursday, Oct. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Houlton Wesleyan Church with Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton. Following the interment, the family invites relatives and friends to the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum, Littleton, for a time of remembrance and refreshment.
