    Doescher, Virginia C., 90, September 25, 2014.  Calling hours are from 4 – 5 p.m. Friday, October 3 at Dunn Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 5 p.m.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.

PT virginia Doescher    HOULTON – Virginia (Ginny) Doescher, 90, died peacefully September 25, 2014, in Houlton. She was born on November 9, 1923, in Bangor and was the daughter of Alfred and Jessie (Burr) Clay.
    She lived in Lincoln and graduated from Lee Academy in 1941 and the University of Maine at Orono in 1945. While at UMO, she met her future husband, John Fredrick (Fred) Doescher. They married in 1946 and made their home in Houlton. Ginny was a devoted wife and loving mother. After raising five children, she went to work as an English teacher at Hodgdon Middle School. Fred and Ginny summered at Drew’s Lake and, after retirement, wintered in Florida. They loved to square dance, play bridge and travel.
    Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Fred, who passed away in 2007; her daughter, Anne Doescher, and her son Jay Doescher. Ginny is survived by her son, Brian Doescher of New Limerick, her daughter, Nancy Hughes and her husband, Brian of Topsham, and her daughter, Debbie Dubois and her husband, David of Hollis; eight grand-children, Tiffany Butler and her husband, Nick, Kristen Holshouser and her husband, Sean, Darren and Cody Bennett, Ryan Doescher and his wife, Sara, Kimberly, Samantha, and Jessica Dubois; and many nieces and nephews.
    The family would like to especially recognize and thank Ginny’s great caregivers and friends at Madigan Estates.
    Friends and family are invited to join the family in a celebration of Ginny’s life. Calling hours are from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday October 3, 2014, followed by a funeral service at 5 p.m. at Dunn’s Funeral Home, 11 Park Street in Houlton, with the Reverend Dale Holden officiating.
