PRESQUE ISLE: “Take Back the Night,” an event for survivors to speak out and raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence, will be held at UMPI’s Campus Center at 6:30 p.m. Speakers will be campus president Linda Schott, student Ghazaleh “Oz” Sailors and Casey Faulkingham from the Hope and Justice Project. HODGDON: The Hodgdon Methodist Church will hold a chicken pie supper from 4:30-6 p.m. Mashed potato, squash and assorted pies will also be served. Cost is $8.
PRESQUE ISLE: The Presque Isle Community Players will hold a dinner theater on “A Celebration of the Singer-Songwriter” at UMPI’s Campus Center with social hour at 6 p.m. and the performance at 7 p.m. Desserts, coffee and tea will be served at intermission. Saturday, October 11
HOULTON: Greater Houlton Christian Academy will host its annual Harvest Festival and public auction. A children’s fair begins at 10 a.m., with the food booth open from 10-2. The public auction will begin at 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the annual fund.
HOULTON: A bake sale to benefit the Ark Animal Sanctuary will be held outside Hollywood Pet Salon, 70 Main St., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. FMI: 532-7387.
PRESQUE ISLE/FORT FAIRFIELD/CARIBOU/LIMESTONE: This year’s Rosary Rally for America will be held at noon at various places in Aroostook County, including outside St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Main Street in Presque Isle, at the bandstand in Fort Fairfield and at the Veteran’s Memorial in Caribou and on Main Street in Limestone. All are welcome to come and pray for America.

HOULTON: A bake sale to benefit the Ark Animal Sanctuary will be held at Took a Leap Farm, 243 B Rd., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. FMI: 532-7387.
PRESQUE ISLE: The Aroostook County Collectors Club will hold a collectibles buy/sell show from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center. Admission is $1 for adults and free for children 12 and under.

Tuesday, October 14
PRESQUE ISLE: The Aroostook County Task Force on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault will sponsor a free two-day training for law enforcement officers, law enforcement students and advocates for victims. HOULTON: Members of the Houlton High School class of 1951 will meet at Grammy’s Country Inn at 12 noon. All members and spouses are welcome.
VAN BUREN: The Aroostook Municipal association will host a meet-the-candidates forum at 6:30 p.m. at Van Buren High School, so municipal leaders may meet those running for Maine Senate and House seats.

PRESQUE ISLE: In support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, “Walk it Up, Presque Isle!” will start and finish at the Turner Memorial Library, with children’s story time and activity, as well as registration for the walk, at 11 a.m. At 12 p.m., participants will walk a short loop around downtown to stand against domestic violence. Lunch will be provided back at the library for those who preregister.
