Winter/spring program registration tonight

    There will be a Caribou Parks and Recreation Department program registration night this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
The department’s winter and spring program booklet were distributed to Caribou children in grades Pre-K through 8. Anyone wishing to view the booklets may go online to caribourec.org to view a PDF of it, or come into the recreation office on Bennett Drive to pick up a copy.


Programs being offered include grades 1-2, grades 3-4 and grades 5-6 basketball, grades 4-6 cheerleading, ski daddle for grades 3-5, spring training baseball for ages 9-12 and youth track and field for grades 3-8.
Families that have a year fee for their child may register by phone at 493-4224 beginning Thursday, provided there are no additional fees associated with the programs they are registering for, in which case they will have to register in person.

Men’s basketball league

    Men’s basketball meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. from Oct. 20 through April 29, 2015. The league is for men 18 years and over. Anyone interested in having a team in the league must register through the recreation office by Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. For more information, call Matt at 493-4224.

Men’s 30-and-over basketball

    Men’s 30-and-over basketball begins Oct. 14 and meets Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. through April 28, 2015. The halfcourt program is designed for gentlemen 30 years of age and over and meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym. Call Matt at 493-4224 for more information.

TIOS upcoming schedule

    The following is a list of the upcoming Take It Outside Adult Series trips being offered for adults ages 18 and over: Oct. 11-13, Baxter State Park overnight; Oct. 14, Houlton Farms Dairy and Smyrna Amish Village; Oct. 16, Pineridge Scents and Candle Company and Sherman Lumberman’s Museum; Oct. 18, day hiking to Deboullie; Oct. 21, Bradford Camps, Munsungun Lake; Oct. 23, Smith and Wesson and U.S. Border Patrol Station; Oct. 25, birding outing; Oct. 28, Essential Oils and Organic herbal medicine; and Oct. 30, a day in North Maine Woods.
