Brewer, Cornelia O., 99, October 9, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 19 at the United Baptist Church in Island Falls at 2 p.m.
ISLAND FALLS – Cornelia “Lee” Brewer died Oct. 9 just 10 days short of her 100th birthday. She was born Oct 19, 1914, to Sidney V. and Nellie B. Osborn in Branford, CT.
Lee graduated with a BA in Education from Columbia U in New York. She taught school for many years in Branford, mostly kindergarten. In 1942, she married Harold H Brewer. They had two children, Margaret and David.
After Harold died in 2003, she moved to Island Falls to be closer to family. She was an active member of the Katahdin Club and the United Baptist Church in Island Falls.
Lee was predeceased by her parents; her brother, S. Robert Osborn; and her husband, Harold.
She is survived by daughter, Margaret Brewer and her partner, Paula Teske, of Venice CA; her son, David Brewer and his wife, Linda, of Island Falls; grandsons, David of Gorham, Stephen and his wife, Melissa, Scot and his wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Parker, Madison, Hunter, Ethan and Conner, all of Island Falls. She is also survived by her very special nieces, Marilyn, Gail, Karen and Wendy of Connecticut.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Heights HCF in Patten for their compassionate care and friendships during her two-plus years there.
