On Oct. 25, the Whittier Congregational Church in Island Falls, will hold its annual church fall sale, starting at 9 a.m. and going until noon. There will be a great selection of all things, clothes included and a bake sale will also be available for anyone who enjoys home baked goodies. During the sale there will be coffee and muffins also available for those who like to eat and browse.

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Webb and son, Dale, were recently in Bangor to attend the wedding of their niece, Shawna Kenny. This affair took place in the church on Essex Street. and the reception was held at the Black Bear Inn, in Orono. Muriel (Giles) Walton, a former resident of the area, has visited recently with her many relatives and friends. While here she included me in her itinerary and we had a great time reminiscing.
She since returned to her home in Atlanta, Ga. I am having a great time with my leaf-picking apparatus attached to my riding lawn mower picking up the leaves from my maple trees and also the leaves from my neighbors — which includes Susie York, Cheryl Connelly and Roger Webb.
All the trees are now mostly bare, so that little job will soon be over. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole time i did this and plan to do it again next year. Still have lots of birds to tend to and the other day I saw that the mourning dove is still around. I leave seeds on the ground for her, as they are ground feeders. Still fighting the gray squirrels and sometimes I wonder who is getting the best of it. Try to keep the bird feeder with enough seeds in them for the little birds to get, as those squirrels really do a job on cleaning out the feeders. Have also noticed that I have a few more skunk holes so guess they are still digging for grubs.
