A few weeks ago a gentleman brought in a long-haired yellow cat. She had been hanging around his house and she was missing some fur, which concerned him. We agreed to take her in and get her the necessary veterinary care that she required.
Once back from the vet it was determined that the fur loss was caused by malnutrition and a bad case of fleas and we also discovered that she was already spayed. We updated her on her shots, treated her for fleas and put her on a healthy diet. We also named her Samantha.
With in two weeks the transformation was incredible, the fur started growing back and she gained 2 pounds! We were all very excited. Samantha was gorgeous and clearly she must have belonged to someone. She is very loving and someone loved her enough to spay her. We were in hopes that someone would come and claim her but it has been weeks and no one has come for her.
Samantha waits patiently for a new home, a home where she will be taken care of and loved. These days her belly is always full and her fur is growing back thick and shiny. While these things are all positive things there is still something missing in her life. Samantha needs humans of her own to give her love and attention, to take care of her so she can just be a cat and enjoy life. Are you that person? Do you have enough room and love in your heart to offer Samantha a fur ever home. She is waiting patiently. If you are interested in adopting Samantha please contact Lorraine at The Hollywood Pet Salon at 532-7387.
We are continuing to raise money for the new building and remain positive about getting a structure up before snowfall. The cold weather is almost here and, yes, you will see us out all winter in the cold and snow with our bake sales and other fundraisers.
We currently have two raffles going on. One is the quilt raffle and the other is the cat gift basket. Tickets are on sale for both at the Hollywood Pet salon. We will be at the Hilltop bowling alley on Saturday, Oct. 25 for Bark and Bowl. Please check out the details on our Facebook page. We will also have a bake sale that same day outside Hollywood pet Salon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
