CARIBOU – Clifford C. St. John, 66, died unexpectedly October 30, 2014, at his Caribou residence. He was born in Caribou on October 3, 1948, the son of Clifford and Olive (Philbrick) St. John.
Clifford was a 1966 graduate of Caribou High School and served with the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He married Virginia Martin on May 1, 1971, and was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Olive, and his wife Virginia “Ginny”, both of Caribou, are his son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Mary Jane St. John of Lyme, CT; his daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Greg Gionffrido of East Hartford, CT; three brothers, Arthur Philbrick and wife, Lorraine of Augusta, Michael St. John of Gardiner, and Peter St. John of Layton, UT; one sister, Dolores “Dolly” Jandreau and husband, Donald of Caribou; one grandchild, Tyler St. John; as well as several nieces and nephews. Clifford was predeceased by his father; his brothers, Leo and Jeff St. John; and a niece, Sabrina Trenchard.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Interment was in the Northern Maine Veteran’s Cemetery. Those who wish to contribute in memory of Clifford may do so in support of his family.
