Officers are also investigating two shoplifting incidents at Main Street businesses – one on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Freshies On The Run and the other on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Walmart.
The Freshies case is closed until more information is obtained.
Walmart officials contacted the PIPD around 10:07 p.m. on Saturday reporting a retail theft of merchandise earlier in the day totaling $397.93. Officer Kevin Reed was assigned and found that Richard Daigle, 50, of Caribou, had stolen a pair of boots and returned them for a refund. Then Daigle reportedly stole an Ion video camera.
Reed contacted the Caribou Police Department but officials there advised they were uncertain where Daigle was living. When located, Daigle will be charged with theft.
