Ashland Rec hosts Halloween Spooktacular

    Over 70 guests attended the Ashland Rec Department’s Halloween party held Oct. 25. There were lots of games, music and a light show by KC and Company DJ Service.

Winners of the coloring contest were — Ages 2-4: Katie O’Clair; Ages 5-7: Kiah Albert; and Ages 8-10: Kaili Condon. Winners of the costume contest were — Ages 0-2: Grant Eastman; Ages 3-5: Spookiest Costume, Charlie Lilly; and Cutest Costume, Grace Morton; Ages 6-9: Spookiest, Kiah Albert; Cutest Costume, Reagan Libby; and Most Creative, Innius Jonoch; Ages 10-12: Spookiest, Eli Walker; and Most Creative, Gabby Ayotte; and Ages 13: Lucas Eastman.
Special thanks to Lendall Tarr and Jessica Eastman for their hard work and dedication to the youth of our community.

Ongoing events

    The Ashland Area Senior Citizens meet the first and third Thursday at noon for a potluck luncheon at the LeBlanc Junkins VFW Post 9699 on the Portage Road with a meeting to follow. This active and growing club of senior citizens also takes trips to various restaurants throughout The County, hosts cookouts, enjoys guest speakers and entertainment such as musicians. The Portage Lake Over 50’s Club lunch is held on the last Tuesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at the Town Hall. All individuals 50 and over are invited to attend and can bring a potluck dish to share. For more information, contact Jean Clark at 435-8034 or Donna Martin at 435-7108.
The Red Hat Loonies of Portage Lake meet every third Thursday of every month at Dean’s Motor Lodge. Membership dues are $2. Come and have a great meal and a great time, too!
