Pro-Life group hosts fundraiser

The Pregnancy Care Center held its 12th annual fund-raising banquet Oct. 23 at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center. The theme for this year’s banquet was “Speak Life.”

The PCC has a main office in Presque Isle and satellite offices in Houlton and Fort Kent. Approximately 140 dinner guests from all over Aroostok County came and enjoyed a delicious meal and an inspiring program. The program consisted of a message of the tangible ways the PCC “speaks hope, speaks love and speaks life” to the clients they serve. Dinner guests were especially encouraged to hear client testimonies of the impact the PCC has had on their life.
“It truly was an exciting evening with lots of enthusiasm and passion in the room. We are so thankful for our table hosts who invited new people to attend the banquet. Individuals responded to our plea to come along side us in an effort to empower us with a strong voice to ‘Speak Life’ to our clients. A total of $20,000 was raised and money continues to trickle in. All expenses of the banquet were underwritten by local businesses, for which we are deeply grateful,” said PCC Executive Director Christie Corey.
“As a nonprofit organization, we receive no funding from the government. We appreciate those who give monthly, help out with fundraisers, volunteer at the centers and serve as board members. It takes many people working together to thrive as a nonprofit,” Corey added.
Those who would like to make a tax-deductible donation may send it to Pregnancy Care Center, P.O. Box 1553, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Donations may also be made through the United Way of Aroostook through individuals’ places of employment, with a designation to Pregnancy Care Center.
