CARIBOU – Philip A. White, 96, passed away, November 13, 2014, at Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. He was born June 15, 1918, in Wade, the son of Russell and Laura (Baker) White.
    Philip served his country for four years in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1945. After returning home, he farmed with his father in Wade until becoming a union pipe fitter where he worked in many states and even Canada. He was a lifetime retiree member of BTJ Steamfitter, Local 716. He will always be remembered for his story telling and hearty laugh.
    He is survived and will be missed by five nephews: Loren White, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Holden, ME, David Young of Maynard, Mass., Carroll Lee and his wife, Gail, of Brewer, Wayne Lee and his wife, Christine, of Houlton, Philip Lee and his wife, Gennie, of Valrico, FL, and a stepson, Guy Churchill and his wife, Kathryn, of Presque Isle.
    In addition to his parents, Philip was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn (Churchill); brother, Loren White Sr.; and sisters, Delma Lee and Virginia Young.
    The family wishes to thank all the healthcare workers at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou for their outstanding care of Philip.
