     CURRIER, Philip N., 94, PRESQUE ISLE & CROSS LAKE, at Presque Isle, November 15, 2014. A private celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.

    PRESQUE ISLE & CROSS LAKE — Philip N. Currier, 94, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2014 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born March 3, 1920 in Caribou, the son Otto and Belle (West) Currier.  
    He was a graduate of the Caribou High School and, after high school graduation, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving as a pilot during World War II, later transferring to the United State Air Force where he served his country from 1942 to 1969. His last assignment was overseeing the transfer of the 407th Air Force Refueling Wing from Homestead, FL to Loring AFB, Limestone. He retired in 1969 with the rank of Colonel. Philip had been a resident of Cross Lake for over 40 years, and wintered in Florida. He was also an avid golfer.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Currier was predeceased by his first wife, Anne (Waldner) Currier, and his second wife, Mary Anne (Reed) Berce Currier; one brother, Donald Currier; one sister, Ethel May West; one step-daughter, Tobin Berce Champainer. He is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Currier and his wife, Elizabeth, of Crested Butte, CO, Mark P. “Skip” Currier of Vancouver, WA; stepson, Ned Berce and his wife, Carol, of St. Agatha; two step-daughters, Jill DeVries and her husband, Ewout, of Marco Island, FL; one sister, Betty Frost of Limestone; one grandson, Jenner Currier of Crested Butte, CO; step-grandchildren, John Violette and Jennifer Violette, both of North Conway, NH, Brandon Berce and Nik Berce, both of St. Agatha, Elise Berce of Worcester, MA, Chris Heign DeVries and his wife, Amy, of St. Augustine, FL, Nico DeVries and his wife, Ana, of New York City; one step-great-grandchild, Meadow DeVries of St. Augustine, FL; several nieces and nephews including Debbie, Kathy, Jean, Jane, Becky, and Terry.
