Ricker Rumblings has been absent for a few weeks. The editor has been trying to get “over” a bad fall, one that my Guardian Angel was watching over. I bruised my knee, side, elbow, back and head, but no broken bones! Thank you, Lord.
What can I say about the weather that hasn’t been said before? I keep repeating the old saying, “If you don’t like the Maine weather, wait a minute.”
Caroline Folsom, Denise Hitchcock, and other ladies who have dogs are seen outside every day with their pets. Jane Hughes is home for “good,” since she told me she does not need to return to rehab in Brewer. That is excellent news, Jane. Margaret Drew has returned from Massachusetts, where she visited one of her sons. I missed you, Margaret.
We had a delightful dinner in the community room for Thanksgiving, given by Ricker and served by Brian and Charlene Henderson. Beverages included tea, coffee, water and soft drinks, along with turkey, squash, stuffing, gravy, rolls, potatoes, cake and pie and more. We sang “Happy Birthday” to Robin Chambers, and after the meal Paul Armstrong and some members of his family entertained us. We had music and jokes by Paul in his usual humor. His daughter and grandson both sang and played solos and Joyce Bryant’s brother also sang and played the guitar. It was a very nice afternoon. Thanks to all concerned.
Bonnie Lukehart is a patient at the Houlton Regional Hospital at the time of this writing.
We had Thanksgiving dinners delivered to us by Charlene and her family on Sunday. Needless to say, it was great to find a box of fresh food on my counter, returning from church. Thank you, American Legion and all members and volunteers. You are the best.
Kathryn Hall was a recent overnight visitor of her mother, Lois Downing.
It was a delight to see Molly Bailey on Sunday recovering from her recent stroke. Molly, everybody has been asking for you and now we can say you are “up and about.”
Are you Christmas shopping yet? Did you get in on the Black Friday sales? Too much for me, so I will avoid that event.
My thought on angels: “Angels are God’s humble servants ready to give without the need or desire for recognition or reward.”
Take care and don’t pick up the flu. God’s love.
