Searles, Kathleen M., 84, November 30, 2014.  Private interment to be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.  Arrangements by Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.


 

    CARIBOU – Kathleen M. Searles, 84, wife of the late Stillman A. Searles, passed away Sunday morning November 30, 2014 at a Caribou nursing facility, following an extended illness. She was born May 12, 1930, in St. Francis, the daughter of Thomas and Eva (Lowe) Michaud.
    She attended school in St. Francis and as a young woman worked as a logging camp cook. She was married to Stillman A. Searles on June 4, 1946 and had been employed by the Birdseye Processing Plant, Caribou, the A&P Processing Plant, Fort Fairfield, and McCain’s Foods, Easton.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Searles was predeceased by her husband, Stillman, on March 25, 2012; two sons, Elwood Searles, and Albert Searles who passed away on October 8, 2014; three brothers, Arthur, Stanley and Gerald Michaud; one sister, Diane Michaud. She is survived by one son, Roger Searles and his wife, Rose, of Van Buren; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Albert (Martina) Searles of Caribou; one brother, Reynold Michaud and his wife, Laurina, of Caribou; one sister, Viola Swenson of Gardiner, MA; 20 grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    In keeping with Kathleen’s wishes, a private graveside service of committal will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Searles to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, Maine 04074 or the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association, Founders Affiliate, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
