MORO, Maine — A Queens Village, N.Y. man avoided serious injury Wednesday afternoon when his pick-up truck went off the road on Route 11 and struck a telephone pole.
According to Sgt. Chad Fuller of the Maine State Police, Adam Mullings, 23, lost control of his 2013 Chevrolet truck at 2:30 p.m. while driving on snow-covered roads on Route 11 in Moro Plantation. Mullings went off the road, struck a pole and was initially trapped inside his vehicle. He was able to exit the vehicle by the time police arrived.
Mullings escaped serious injury despite his truck snapping a telephone pole off at the base and his truck coming to rest on its side against a stand of trees. The truck was severely damaged, but Mullings did not need medical attention. He was wearing a seat belt, according to the police report. Speed was not a factor and no charges were filed.
