Several local soccer stars gain MSC honors
The Maine Soccer Coaches have selected their Eastern Maine all-stars.
Local players named to the girls’ Eastern Maine Team for Class B were Jillian Flynn and Hannah Graham, both of Presque Isle; and Sarah Doak and Bria Judd, both of Caribou.
Other selections were Charlotte Messer of Camden Hills, Emily Berry of Ellsworth, Avery Bond of Erskine Academy, Morgan Buck, Claire Peterson and Brianna Saulter, all of Hermon; Maegan True of John Bapst, Opal Curless and Molly Carroll, both of Mount Desert Island; Rachel Martin of Old Town and Pilar Elias and Lydia Roy, both of Waterville.
Named to the Class B boys’ Eastern Maine Team from the area were Mike McLellan, Alex Michaud and Ben Nickerson, all of Presque Isle; and Michael Hunter of Caribou.
Also selected were Jack Gallagher, Josiah Krul and Josiah Simko, all of Camden Hills; Griffin Nightingale, Jack Weeks and Jeff Weeks, all of Ellsworth; Ryan Rodrigue of Erskine Academy, Antonio Ayala and Julian Zepeda, both of Foxcroft Academy; CJ Moody and Adam Richardson, both of Old Town; and Alex Berard of Winslow.
In Class D, local players recognized for girls were Marissa Chasse, Savannah Flint, Caitlin Paradis and Laura Sturgeon, all of Ashland; Karli Levesque of Central Aroostook, Kylee Carter of Easton, Kayla Giberson and Chelsey Pelkey, both of Fort Fairfield; Emma Vannorsdall of Limestone-MSSM; and Mikayla Churchill, Joan Overman and Mackenzie Worcester, all of Washburn.
Players from out of the area making the elite squad were Amy Hallett, Sami Ireland and Morgan Moon, all of Penobscot Valley; Kennedi Smith of Southern Aroostook and Courtney Parent of Van Buren.
Boys’ Class D players selected from the region were Cody Blair, Mark Chasse and Michael Cook, all of Ashland; Cody Halvorson of Easton, Johnny Theriault of Fort Fairfield and Cameron Bragg of Washburn.
Others were Josh Palmeter and Seth Pearson, both of Bangor Christian; Krisford Melanio of Deer Isle-Stonington, Sterling Beal of Jonesport-Beals, Grant Doane, Teddy Hallett and Joseph Higgins, all of Penobscot Valley; Ryan Eylar and William Urquhart, both of Shead; and Cameron Landry and Parker Walker, both of Southern Aroostook.
