CARIBOU – Eva Corinne Albee, 83, passed away peacefully December 5, 2014, at Augusta Center for Health & Rehabilitation after a brief illness. She was born August 23, 1931, in Caribou, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Rose (Morrow) Hebert.
She graduated from Conway Academy in Edmundston, New Brunswick class of 1948. She then took stenographic courses at Fredericton Business College in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was a long-time employee for Solman and Hunter in Caribou as their bookkeeper. Mrs. Albee was a faithful member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and also worked for Holy Rosary for 20 years as their bookkeeper while maintaining her own business, Eva’s Bookkeeping Service.
Mrs. Albee is survived by her loving sister, Cecilia Herbert of Madawaska. Eva was a very devoted and loving mom to her three children. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Ouimet of Caribou; her two sons, Thomas Albee and his wife, Margaret Baird, of Readfield, and Michael Albee and his wife, Christine, of Marstons Mills, Massachusetts. Eva was a wonderful and loving grandmother. Grammy leaves behind five grandchildren; Melissa Albert and her husband, Matthew, of Marstons Mills, Massa-chusetts, Scott Albee and his wife, Emily, of Martinez, Georgia, Emily Albee of Bradley, Nicole Albee of Readfield, and Jessica Ouimet of Woburn, Massachusetts. Sandy Levesque and Barb Walker are recognized as two very special women who were tremendous friends to Eva. Eva enjoyed spending time with her beloved Shih Tzu, Oreo, tending to her gardens, traveling the world, and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 6-8 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday December 9, 2014, from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean Paul Labrie, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at St. Thomas Cemetery, Madawaska. Eva was a strong advocate for animals in need of rescue.
