      SHOREY, Charles Timothy, 77, WOODLAWN, AR & MAINE, at Arkansas, December 13, 2014. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, AR. Arrangements by Arkansas Funeral Care, Jacksonville, AR. 

    WOODLAWN, AR & MAINE – Charles Timothy Shorey, 77, went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2014. He was born August 17, 1937, in Fort Fairfield, ME, to Gardner and Theressa Bourgeoius Shorey.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Barbara Shorey; brother, Clayton Shorey; and grandson, Heath Misho. 
    He is survived by his wife, Marion Shorey, to whom he would have been wed 34 years on December 26. Other survivors include three daughters, Diana (Ray) Maxwell, Wanda (Rusty) Grimmett, both of Pine Bluff, and Theressa Shorey of Phoenix, AZ; two sons, John (Lynne) Stokes of Middlebury, VT, Dennis Stokes of Pine Bluff; two siblings, brother, Graydon Shorey and sister, BeaAnn Brown, both of Mars Hill, ME; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; special caretaker, Susan Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
    Charles was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring as GMG1 Petty Officer in 1973. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam aboard the destroyer Turner Joy. After retirement, he worked in several other fields, including five years as a civil servant, and 15 years at Wal-Mart, retiring in 2012 from the Pine Bluff store.
    He was a long-time member of Victory Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
    Visitation will be from 6-8:30, Wed., at Victory Baptist Church, 2515 Ridgeway Rd., Pine Bluff, AR. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church, with Bro. Bryan Torres and Rev. Mike Gardner officiating. He will be buried with full military honors in Graceland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Maxwell, Rusty Grimmett, David Gordon, Travis Misho, Chris Ashcraft and Devon Miller. The family will be at the Shorey home in Woodlawn. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
