LIMESTONE, Maine — Officials with the Loring Job Corps Center recently announced that Christopher Cunningham of Groveton, N.H. has been named the Star Student of the Quarter.
Cunningham joined the Loring team nearly a year ago in January and, since his arrival, has proven that he is a goal-oriented young man with a desire to not only better himself but everyone around him. “The center is proud of Christopher’s accomplishments on- and off-center, his dedication assists the staff in its continued efforts to train tomorrow’s workforce,” said Business and Community Liaison of the Loring Job Corps Center Roger Felix.
Cunningham has completed the carpentry program at the center, and is currently awaiting his next adventure with Ameri Corps — where he will join forces with Habitat for Humanity and build homes for needy people. Felix says that everyone who has met Chris would agree that his work ethic is by far one of the best the center has seen in years, and his can-do attitude is contagious, making him a leader on center and off.
“Chris can often be found assisting his fellow students on a daily basis though positive motivation and showing them what right looks like,” Felix commented. “Chris can be counted on to get the job done and has the ability to overcome complex tasks with minimum effort. He leads from the front at every opportunity and will truly be an asset to any organization.”
Cunningham thanked the staff and students at Loring Job Corps for selecting him for the prestigious title, expressing how everyone has the capability to become successful and that believing in yourself is the first step to being successful.
