    ROSS, Laurence “Larry” E., Jr., 59, MAPLETON, at Bangor, December 20, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle. 

    MAPLETON – Laurence “Larry” E. Ross Jr., 59, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. He was born on July 27, 1955, in Portland, the son of Laurence E. and Cecelia (Flick) Ross.
    He was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving out of Loring AFB. Larry worked at Walmart in Presque Isle for 18 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved camping and being outdoors, and being surrounded by his family and friends. American Flag Color
    He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Ruth (Closson) Ross of Mapleton; his mother, Cecelia “Red” (Flick) Ross-Hilyard of Brunswick; his sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Bassinet of Brunswick, Julia Arsenault and her husband, Bruce, of Yarmouth; his daughter, Wendy Lynn Bell and her husband, Allan Jr., of Presque Isle; his step-children, Leslie Ann Smart and her husband, Fredrick, of Presque Isle, Russell Bragdon of Presque Isle and Shannon Dawson and her husband, Jeff of Radicliff, KY; his grandchildren, Alexis Rose and James John Bell, Alyssa, Emma, Frederick, and Alyvia Smart, Madison and Tyler Dawson; his former wife, Peggy (Kressbach) Ross; mother-in-law, Mona (Nelder) Johnson; many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunt and uncles, and many friends.
    He was predeceased by his father and his step-father, Clarence Hilyard.
    Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, with Rev. Chris Dare officiating. Spring interment with military honors will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
