ReEnergy facilities donate to Toys for Tots

The employees at ReEnergy Ashland and ReEnergy Fort Fairfield biomass facilities purchased more than 70 toys this holiday season to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.

“At ReEnergy, we feel it is important to work with our neighbors to make our communities stronger,” said Facility Manager Mark Thibodeau. “Charitable giving and involvement in community groups is a central part of our commitment to our neighbors. This was a very rewarding experience for our northern Maine team.”
The value of the toys was estimated at approximately $1,000.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
ReEnergy Ashland and ReEnergy Fort Fairfield generate renewable energy from responsibly harvested green forest residue biomass. Together they are capable of producing approximately 544,000 MWh of electricity each year — enough to supply nearly 71,000 homes. The facilities employ approximately 50 people in northern Maine, but support hundreds of additional jobs in the region. For more information, visit  www.reenergyholdings.com.
