EASTON NEWS
Easton athlete recognized
Tyler Perry, who was a student at Easton High School from 1963-66, was recently recognized as a member of EHS’s 1,000 Point Club for basketball.
Perry played for the varsity team in Easton starting in game seven of his freshman year; unfortunately, statistics were not available for that school year. However during Perry’s sophomore year he scored 316 points, 425 during his junior year and finished his high school career with 359 in his senior year — for a total of 1,100 in the three years.
His team’s overall record was 58 wins and 24 loses. He was able play in a total of 10 tournament games, including the 1965 State Championship team at the Wally Donovan Gymnasium in Waterville.
Athleticism runs in the family: the bar was set high by Perry’s older brother Mickey, who played on the1957 State Championship team. He credits his brother for giving him his competitive spirit, as he strived to match his accomplishments. Perry also recognizes Coach Ugone and good, supporting teammates during all four years.
Congratulations to Perry for having his accomplishments recognized!

Making the presentation during a recent ceremony were: Galen Flewelling, chairman of the School Board; Rachel Tomlinson, ladies’ varsity soccer coach; and EHS Principal Cameron Adams. Congratulations, Kylee!
