Dr. Rachel Swartz and Adrienne Griffin, MSPT, will speak about how incontinence issues don’t have to slow down those who are impacted; they’ll share the latest treatments and therapies available locally.
In July 2012, Dr. Swartz became a member of TAMC’s Active Medical Staff and joined Dr. Hebert and Dr. Nguyen at OB/GYN & Midwifery Services. Prior to joining TAMC, Dr. Swartz practiced at Glenns Ferry Health Center, Inc. in Mountain Home, Idaho since 2007. Dr. Swartz’s special interest is in urogynecology, including both conservative and surgical treatments.
Rachel M. Swartz, MD, FACOG earned her medical degree from Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Medicine in 2000. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of South Alabama in 2005. Dr. Swartz has been board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2009.
Joining Swartz for the presentation will be Griffin, a physical therapist who’s a new addition to the TAMC team. She has worked to introduce a new service to help women experiencing a variety of conditions, particularly pelvic floor pain and incontinence. Griffin uses a combination of manual therapy and patient education to help patients.
Griffin earned her bachelor of science degree in health sciences and her masters of science degree in physical therapy from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
The Jan. 5 program at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center will feature music by the Wagoneers beginning at 10 a.m. and again during lunch. Staff from Crown Emergency Care will also be on hand prior to the lunch to provide blood pressure screening to any attendees.
The upcoming TAMC Community Lunch and Learn/Healthy Aging Luncheon is open to the public. Cost for the meal is $10 per person. Members enrolled in TAMC’s Senior Connection program only pay $5.
