BURGESS, Dawn Marilyn, 76, CARIBOU, at Bangor, December 26, 2014. A funeral service for Marilyn will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 3, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the care of Brookings-Smith Funeral Home, Bangor.
CARIBOU – Dawn Marilyn Burgess, 76, died following a long illness on December 26, 2014, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. She was born March 8, 1938, in Caribou, the daughter of O. Daniel and Freda K. (Tomlinson) Beaulieu.
Marilyn graduated from Caribou High School, Class of 1955. She earned her Nursing Degree from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. Marilyn was an R.N. for over forty years, and for most of that time she worked as an O.R. nurse at Cary Medical Center in Caribou. Marilyn was a life-long member of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church in Caribou. She sang in the church choir, served on the vestry and altar guild, and was a member of the Episcopal Church Women. She also sang for many years with the Caribou Choral Society.
Surviving are her son, Scott Burgess and wife, Julie, of Winterport; daughter, Lori Reynolds and husband, Mark, of South China; four grandchildren, Brandon Sullivan, Catherine Sullivan, Mani Reynolds, and Elizabeth Burgess; one great-grandchild, Ellie Sullivan; and two nieces, Lynn Flewelling of Redlands, CA, and Susan Staples of Wilton.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her brother, Arnold Beaulieu of Presque Isle.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Marilyn that will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 3, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Presque Isle, with the Rev.
