American Flag Color    ISLAND FALLS – John E. Saucier, 68, died December 23, 2014, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born January 28, 1946, in Elkton, MD, the son of Rene and Elizabeth (Campbell) Saucier.
    He graduated from Leavitt High School in Turner, class of 1964. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1968. John worked at Philips Element in Lewiston. After retiring, he worked as  a volunteer driver for Community Concepts in Lewiston. In 2009, he moved to Island Falls and worked as a volunteer driver for Aroostook Transport and County Rides. John’s favorite pastime was buying, fixing and selling old cars. His most recent project was a 1956 Pontiac.
    He is survived by his significant other, Roberta Brooks, and her family; a son, Brian Saucier and his wife, Heidi, from Turner; a daughter, Kelly Saucier and her husband, John Vandenheulvel, from Manchester, CT; six grandchildren; brother, Charles and his wife, Cora, from Bristol, CT, and two more brothers, Frank and Ellorey; sisters, Rosalind Lee from Livermore, Laureen and her family from CT; four more children whom he considered his own and loved very much, Jacob Brooks, Jennah Brooks, Willow Brooks and Paris Flanagan. He was predeceased by his parents; two children, John Jr. and Tabitha Saucier; a brother, Robert; brother-in-law, Worman Berry.
    John was a kind and generous person who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
    At his request there will not be any services at this time. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to Hospice of Aroostook, 14 Access Highway, Caribou Maine 04736. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
