SHERMAN – Robert Floyd Patterson, 71, passed away from many health problems, December 26, 2014, at a Lewiston hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He was born November 14, 1943, in Sherman, the son of Gerald and Velma (O’Roak) Patterson.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Barry, and a nephew, Glenn. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne Patterson; his children, Annette Goodine and husband, Douglas, of Waynesboro, PA, Dianne Winslow of Hanover, NH, and Jerald R. Patterson and wife, Andrea, of Stacyville; grandchildren, Darren Goodine, Regina Phillips of Mont Alto, PA, Kiana and Kamille Winslow of Hanover, NH, Makayla, Caine and Kendra Patterson of Stacyville; one great-granddaughter, Aunna Phillips, of Mont Alto, PA; a special sister, Analie and husband, Gene Gould, of Sherman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol McNally and husband, Richard, Darlene Heath of Mechanic Falls; Jo-Anne Woodward and husband, Thomas, of Sherman, Lillian and Bob Smith of Rose, NY, Anthony and Cindy Heath of Langdon, NH; family in SC, sister-in-law, Sheila Nelson and nieces and nephews, Becky Atkins, Pat Patterson, Trisha Golightly and Kimball Perrin; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Bob was a great truck driver for 54 years. He had his own business, Patterson Trucking, Inc., hauling logs, pulp and potatoes. In 1991, he left Sherman and hauled groceries for Hannaford in South Portland for 14 years. He drove over 2 million miles. He enjoyed meeting people along the way, sharing trucking stories. He retired in 2005 and returned to Sherman. He enjoyed playing cards, telling stories and talking politics. He was a member of Molunkus Lodge #165, Scottish Rites and Anah Temple Shrine.
Robert’s family would like to thank the staff of Central Maine Medical Center for their excellent care.
A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, at Washburn Memorial Church, Sherman. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Washburn Memorial Church or Molunkus Lodge #165.
