Burtt and Wing lead ’Cat swimmers
The Presque Isle swim team joined Caribou on a trip to Husson University in Bangor last Tuesday for a varsity meet.
The Wildcat boys scored 13 points, with Matt Burtt winning the 50 freestyle in 24.6 seconds and taking second in the 100 free in 55.04 seconds and Leigh Buck second in the 200 freestyle in 2:11.3 and third in the 50 free in 25.74 seconds.
Kyle Kilcollins placed fourth in the 100 breast in 1:21.52.
Madelyn Wing paced the PI girls, which scored 14 points. Wing was first in the 500 free in 6:04.81 and was second in the 50 free in 28.5 seconds.
Teammate Olivia Goulet was fourth in the 200 free in 2:54.08 and fifth in the 100 back in 1:36.52.
Also for PI, Elizabeth Deschenes was third in the 100 breast in 1:52.56. The Wildcats’ best placement for relays was in the 200 freestyle, as they came in second in 2:16.82.
