SHERMAN and ISLAND FALLS – Ella (Sleeper) Emery, wife of the late Sherwood E. Emery, died January 1, 2015 at the age of 99. Ella was the youngest and last survivor of nine children, born September 17, 1915 in Sherman Mills, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Harris) Sleeper.
Ella was loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. She will be very missed by her family and friends. She never had an unkind word for anyone and loved her Lord, Jesus Christ all her life. She was a wonderful testament of her faith and loved singing old hymns. She loved Sunday night hymn singing at Mt. Heights Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children, Terry of Bristol, CT, Mae and Gerald Bouchard of Stacyville, Charles and Nancy of Southington, CT, and William and Cindy Emery of Island Falls; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Jackman; brothers, Richard, Freeman, Maxwell, Jackman, Harold and Billy; sisters, Caroline and Grace.
