CRYSTAL – Gerald ‘Joe’ Boone, 92, died January 2, 2015, in Bangor. He was born February 22, 1922, in Davidson, Maine, the son of Simon and Ethel (Gerald) Boone.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the So. Pacific during WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bessie (Chambers) Boone of Crystal; two brothers, Darrell and his wife, Madeline Boone of Crystal and Royce Boone of Medway; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; one daughter, Clorise; and four brothers, Alton, Frank and two infants.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Crystal Wesleyan Church with Peter Main officiating. Spring interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrange-ments by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
